The Beginning
At 17 years old, Nicolás Rojas and David Lancheros co-founded Imagine Apps in Bogotá — without capital or external investment. Just talent and the conviction that world-class technology could be built from Colombia.
The First Global Impact
Imagine Apps launched MundiApp for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The app reached 1 million users across 50 countries — the company's first major milestone proving the team's international reach.
Consolidation
Over 100 digital projects were delivered for organizations such as Oracle, UNDP, and Universidad de los Andes. During this period, the company also developed a citizen security platform adopted by more than 300 municipalities across Colombia.
The Pandemic Accelerates Growth
While the world slowed down, Imagine Apps doubled down. The company helped businesses rapidly build digital platforms — from e-commerce solutions to internal operational systems. They had already been growing at 100% year over year, and the pandemic only reinforced that trajectory. By then, 40% of their clients were already based in the United States.
Scale and Recognition
Imagine Apps surpassed $1 million in annual revenue. The team grew to more than 50 people, with operations across Colombia, the United States, and Mexico. Forbes recognized the company as one of Colombia's strongest emerging technology firms.
Imagine Apps Creates Dapta
Imagine Apps developed Dapta — an AI-powered automation platform that entered the 500 Global accelerator, led by Nicolás Rojas, and expanded to more than 30,000 companies across 37 countries. Today, Imagine Apps serves as the official implementation partner for custom enterprise deployments.
The Leap Into Enterprise AI
Imagine Apps built AI systems for the leading oncology center in the United States, UNICEF, and companies across three continents. During this stage, the leadership team strengthened and the company pivoted toward a human + AI architecture model.
